Sprint announces Purple Galaxy S3
Sprint has just announced a new Galaxy S3 version to its line-up: A Purple Galaxy S3. According to Sprint the phone will be a Sprint exclusive.

Expect for the color used, the phone is still the normal Galaxy S3 with no changes or new features.
The Galaxy S3 can be bought for just $99 with a contract. While the Galaxy S4 is already announced and will hit the market soon, this is still a great buy and totally worth the money!
Samsung Super bowl ad
While other companies make you wait for the start of the Super bowl, Samsung has already released its 2 minute long superbowl ad.
Featured in the ad are Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and LeBron James. Of course also the Galaxy S3 is featured in the video (next to various other products in the Samsung Galaxy line)
Will the Galaxy S3 get an update to Android 5?
A leaked roadmap from Qualcomm shows that Android 5.0 (called Key Lime Pie) will be announced in Q2 2013, probably during Google’s I/O event on May 15th.Shortly after the announcement Google Nexus phones will get an upgrade to Android 5, followed by other recent phones.

With around 40 million Galaxy S3 phones currently sold and sales still going strong, we find it hard to believe that Samsung will not offer an update to Android 5 for the Galaxy S3. The only reason for this would be to draw customers towards the new Galaxy S4, which is expected to be released in Q3 2013 as well.
Official extended battery
At the start of 2013 Samsung’s official extended battery for the Galaxy S3 will hit the market. The battery has an improved capacity of 3000 mAH (compared to 2100 mAH of the standard battery).

The price tag for this battery will be around 35 euro’s.
Compared to the old battery, the new one is slightly bigger. This means that the old back of the Galaxy S3 won’t fit, but don’t worry! With the battery the kit also provides you with a new back to put on your Galaxy S3. With the extended battery in place your phone will be somewhat thicker, and weigh a bit more. But in our opinion this is totally worth it.
Android 4.1.2 update almost ready
While some Galaxy S3 owners are still waiting for an update to Android 4.1.1 by their carrier, Samsung is working hard on the latest update of Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.2

According to the latest rumors, Samsung has almost finished with the work on Android 4.1.2.
Next to the usual stability and performance improvements, the multi window mode will make its way to the Galaxy S3 with Android 4.1.2. This mode will allow you to run two programs next to each other.

New colors for the Galaxy S3 flip case
When you buy an expensive phone like a Galaxy S3, you will want to protect it. This is why a lot of people decide to buy a case to protect their phone. Samsung created their own cases for the Galaxy S3 called the flip case

What’s special about the official case, is that it replaces the original back of the phone by a new one. Attached to the back is a ‘flip cover’ that you can flip in front of the screen to protect it, kinda like a book.
The official flip cover has been really popular (and we can see why) and now Samsung has decided to release it in colors. In the past the flip cover was only available in blue and white (matching the marble white and pebble blue Galaxy S3)
This is how Samsung tests the Galaxy S3
Samsung Mobile has released a video in which it explains how the Samsung Galaxy S3 is tested.

In the video we can see how Samsung has created a device that pushes the home button 20.000 times. But things get even better, they even have a machine that simulates a person sitting on the phone!
After these tests the phone goes through various tests involving water.
