Earlier this week we had the first indications that the blue version of the Galaxy S3 could be delayed. For example in Dubai where you can already buy the phone, only the Marble White version is available.

This news has been confirmed by CoolBlue, one of the big retailers in the Netherlands, and we are getting the same message from various other retailers across Europe.

May 29th release date

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is set for a release next Tuesday (May 29th) across Europe. But it looks like it will only be the white version of the Galaxy S3 that will be available next week. The blue version will be available a couple of weeks later.

The exact reason for the delay is unknown, perhaps there could be problems with the productions. But it would be strange that this problem only affected the blue Galaxy S3, but of course it is still possible.

More logical is that Samsung can’t keep up with all the pre-orders around the world. Last week a Samsung employee stated that the Galaxy S3 has already been pre-orderded over 9 million times. This is crazy when you think that the Galaxy S2 only had 3 million pre-orders.

In a statement released by Samsung Netherlands, Samsung says that there isn’t a delay for the Galaxy S3, but they don’t specifically mention the blue version of the Galaxy S3.

Translated: "The Galaxy S3 will be released on May 29th and there is no delay"

Sources indicate that the blue version of the Galaxy S3 will be released by two weeks, I guess we will have to wait until next week before before we can tell if the Galaxy S3 has been delayed for sure. We will update this post when we get new information on this matter.
