The picture you see below was uploaded by Samsung Denmark on Facebook as a teaser the for Samsung Mobile Unpacked event on May 3rd.
The picture was uploaded some weeks ago, but at that time didn’t seem important enough to write about. But, with all the new information we have received after the teaser was posted, its time to have a look at this teaser image. What can we learn from the picture?
Samsung Galaxy S3 design
With all the information and leaks we have had in the last few days, we are almost certain that Samsung will announce the Samsung Galaxy S3 on May 3rd.
Two interesting things can be noticed on the teaser image, the first one is the + sign. Why did Samsung add it?
At first we where thinking that this was a hint that on May 3rd, Samsung would announce an Samsung Galaxy S2+ (and not the Galaxy S3), but more and more information we have received the last few days has indicated that we will see the Galaxy S3 on May 3rd.
So what else could the + sign mean? Could it just be a simple “add this date to your calendar” or something more subtle, like a hint that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature an Super Amoled HD plus display (and no pentile subpixel architecture like the Galaxy Nexus has). We have no idea, what do you think?
But, of course the most interesting part of the area is the outline of the smartphone on the right. Could we be looking at the Samsung Galaxy S3?
Judging by the outline (the phone looks to be thicker at the top and bottom) the phone could have a slight curve to it, like we have seen with the Galaxy Nexus. But this could also just be an opticial illusion caused by how the phone is covered. One thing comes to mind when looking at the phone, where is the home button?
The Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 both had an elevated home button, but it looks like the Galaxy S3 will only have capacitive buttons, this goes well with the latest rumors as discussed in this post.
